8. The draft was abolished because literally nobody wants it. Not the military, not voters, not politicians.

The military doesn’t want unmotivated conscripts, voters don’t want their kids forced into service, and politicians don’t want to touch something that politically toxic.

So the premise itself is entirely far-fetched.
