Do you know your Rebel Alliance State bird? [View all]

The Rebel Alliance-inspired symbols, particularly the starbird logo, represent freedom, rebellion, and hope against the Galactic Empire. This emblem has evolved from its origins as graffiti by Mandalorian artist Sabine Wren into a widely recognized symbol of resistance in the Star Wars universe.

"People have started using their state birds as Rebel Alliance–inspired symbols (from Star Wars) to say, “this is where I am, and I’m not okay with what’s happening.” It’s simple, it’s clear, and I think it would be powerful to see these everywhere."

The trend began this month in Minnesota, but is now being used in every state. It combines state identity with anti-authoritarian symbolism to protest federal immigration enforcement operations, and is becoming what has become one of the most visible symbols of political resistance in contemporary America.

Rebel Alliance State Birds are appearing on social media, on t-shirts and totes, as stickers, signs and more. Since ICE is increasing their presence in Georgia, we should call on our state bird to let them know we do not support their cruelty and abuse.

I just got a NM roadrunner pewter pin for the collar of my leather jacket. My son wants one, too.
