he knows a) he raped kids, etc. and b) that Epstein had cameras all over and c) Epstein communicated a lot with Israelis and Russians.

Even a dumbass like The Dotard can identify the risk there without someone explaining to him that he is now being blackmailed. He may be preemptively acting in their interests to try to keep them happy/prove his usefulness.

They don't need to have the files per se, they just need The Dotard to believe they have some of the content/basis of the files.
