Grew up during the Cold War. Many of us figured someone somewhere would nuke somebody eventually, it would get out of control, and that would be the end for all of us. Then a bit of a hiatus when the Berlin Wall fell and the Soviet Union collapsed. A new dawn!! Nope. That was an anomaly. Didn't take long for us to go right back to the world burning down. Then came Shitler, and the Cold War didn't seem so bad in comparison.
