fatigue/cognitive disabilities. There are many. The article does mention (mostly in passing), “COVID-19 really has had a profound impact in terms of long-lasting symptoms [b]that affect all kinds of different parts of the body, at a much higher rate than we usually see from other viruses,” Ferrer said.

I have long COVID, although it is mostly only mildly symptomatic these days. I have normal energy and cognitive skills. Mine impacted my GI system. I was left with pancreatitis, some form of gall bladder crud (never fully diagnosed), and gut dysbiosis. What is lingering is the gut dysbiosis. I spent the power outage on Friday hanging out in Panera, then McDonald's after Panera closed, because my gut was having a bad day - and I didn't need to fill a toilet at home with crap (literally) I couldn't flush because our water system is tied to our electricity.

I am lucky, in that my lingering symptoms (4 years after my initial infection) are relatively mild. I've started brewing kombucha again - as long as I chug 16 oz every 3 days or so it stays under control. I am unlucky, in that my form of long COVID is studied even less than the fatigue/cognitive disability type.
