More than once I noticed a big deal being made about some idea a politician supposedly came up with, supporters singing praises of oh how progressive how the corrupt elite establishment would hate this and on and on (the kind who thinks globalization was Bill Clinton's personal diabolical plot to ignore unions and somehow become wildly rich from campaign donations that pay for campaigns). For example, school buses run on electricity or solar power or something. I look it up and the Clinton Foundation started and funded a program for that years before.

Pretty much everything's like that. Liberal Democrats doing the hard work behind the scenes, incrementally . And being endlessly accused of imaginary corruption.
