Here in Vermont protesting is not a “safe middle class hobby” but a serious endeavor which we hope will help bring about change. I’ve protested here alongside guys with NRA stickers, ministers, MANY veterans, carpenters, students, seniors using walkers and wheelchairs, health care workers…..folks from all walks of life. We’re dead serious and committed.

I’ll never believe that protests don’t work because I was out there during the Vietnam War, women’s rights movement, civil rights movement, pre- Civil Unions legislation and more. I don’t regret a second of it.
