The most impressive thing about the Clinton Foundation in its early years was the ability to pay medical staff to work consistently in clinics in Africa. A lot of the diseases they were fighting - HIV and others - required highly skilled professionals to commit to long term employment to man the various clinics providing treatment. That meant deep connection to the local governments to provide safe and clean infrastructure, worldwide connections to medical and nursing schools to provide staffing, and of course, deep deep pockets of donors.
In other words, the worldwide reach of the Clintons. One of the few foundations, other than the Carter Foundation (which set the standard) that I would donate to.
