In reply to the discussion: A tweet from Jasmine Crockett [View all]Ilikepurple
(562 posts)You didnt really engage my comment as much as go after sunny skies. The one point you did engage was disingenuous because while no one said it, it was implied that she shouldnt complain and just endorse the candidate most aligned with her interests.
I dont know where the better not comment comes from but your entire response to her had that vibe, so I dont see the issue. Better not tell me what to do because it distracts me from telling you what to do? We dont take kindly to that talk around these parts?
That being said, I wholly agree with your analysis that the way forward is to get behind Talarico as Crockett has. That you felt chastised personally seems odd to me. Talarico is your candidate. I also believe Crockett made the right decision to put her support behind him. Be happy with that. I dont live there, but hope he gets the support he needs to win in Texas because I live in America and Senators dont just represent their states. I also know that I need to hear the frustrations from the demographics that I dont belong to. We have time to hear black voices and it might help our chances in the next election. Your analysis is well known. It might be interesting to listen lesser known viewpoints if only to better our chances of maintaining their support.
This is not a defense of everything Sunnyskies801 has said because most of her comments have been removed. Im also not saying you should agree with any of it. Im just a little fatigued by our collective inability to tolerate other voices as if we have nothing to learn.
