. . . let him lead the charge.
Meanwhile, let's not forget the maxim: Amateurs talk tactics, professionals talk logistics.
WTF does "boots on the ground mean?"
Drop in a battalion of 82d Airborne Division troopers?
Each troop will be carrying 100 pounds of gear, most of which they will ditch once the get on the ground. Then comes the problem of providing them with: ammo, water, food, spare parts. And how do we get this to them and where does it come from?
Airborne are light infantry. They have little or no protection against armor (tanks) or armored vehicles.
Remember: Iran is manufacturing at least half the drones Russia is using in Ukraine. If we have learned one thing from the war in Ukraine, it's the lethality of simple drones. Just wait until Iran unleashes drones on exposed infantry.
Land a few armored or mechanized infantry battlaions?
Where do they come from? The States, of course.
How do they get there? The troops fly in but the equipment comes by SEA. Oh, yes, I know -- an Air Force C-5 can haul a tank. But we will need a hundred tanks, not to mention the armored personnel carriers.
How long does it take to get the troops and their equipment into Iran? Weeks. That is, weeks unless Iran decides to shoot down the aircraft and sink the ships bringing in troops and equipment.
No matter what "boots on the ground" means: They still need mountains of ammo, water, fuel, food, spare parts, more ammo, more fuel, replacement personnel . . . .
But, hey, who gives a shit about reality? This is Trump and Hogsbreath we are talking about. Two batshit crazy, dumb-as-dirt amateurs, trying to act tough.
