will be perfectly willing to defy courts to maintain their power, I fear that only physical force would stop them.

It is not just Trump. During the campaign, when Project 2025 was brought up, Peter Thiel (Vance's mentor) said that Project 2025 would bring a revolution in US governance. He said that the revolution would be bloodless only if the left accepted it. If we opposed it, it would not be bloodless.

If Trump declares an emergency to take over elections, there will be massive protests. The response to such protests would be violent. Trump would call upon his ICE army, militias and the National Guard to squash the protests.

Would members of the Guard and regular Army refuse illegal orders or comply with killing civilian protesters? Would they split apart into opposing factions?

I feel like that kind of confrontation could happen.
