24. When I lived in Santa Barbara...

... fifty years ago, while taking a stroll on the beach near More Mesa, I came across the very ripe corpse of a mature male sea lion – minus its head. There's only one other marine mammal that doesn't fear a big male sea lion, and that's an orca. Those guys ain't afraid of nuthin'!
