10. I think it was more than just a profitable 'business' and sexual gratification

Yesterday

It was an intiation into a private world of wealth and corruption. They knew who they could safely and reliably illicitly conspire with on business, politics or governments through the threat of mutual self destruction. And they recruited new members based on what benefit they could gain having that kind of leverage over them. And of course being the sick perverts they were, it was something they could enjoy together.
