10. My favorite memory from decades ago

My father grew up on a farm. Daddy and his cousin were talking about a crow they half tamed. They fed it the chicken feed and the crow would bring back shiny objects that it kept on the porch. Crows are VERY territorial.

My Daddy's family never went to church, but Sunday was the day that friends and families visited. Daddy and the rest of the children would sit on the porch and wait. As soon as someone rattled the chain to open the gate, that crow would dive bomb the folks invading its territory. By this time, Daddy and James Sydney were laughing so much that tears were rolling down their faces, and you couldn't understand them.

The end of the story was the crow disappeared. They said everyone knew someone shot that crow, but the person who did it took that secret to their grave.

Thanks for bringing back a wonderful memory.
