They pretty much never cover the stories properly.

"Disgraced nyc developer tells racist lies about popular democrat"

He fabricated a lie about Obama's birth certificate, claimed to have sent investigators for which he never produced any evidence, claimed he had witnesses, for which he never produced any evidence, and eventually Obama proved it was all a lie. Yet the media gave the fraud from the start way more airtime than they ever gave anyone.

And they struggle even now to call him a liar.

This whole thing would never have been possible without serious help from the media.

One week of honest reporting and headlines and he'd be toast.
