Please explain to me...OTHER THAN in regard to down-ballot Republican races...why Trump's "approval" means a damn thing [View all]

I get the idea about crap ratings for Trump spelling disaster for Republicans in the midterms and other elections.

But for Trump PERSONALLY...other than damaging his ego and leading him to claim that any poll that doesn't show him with 1,000,000% approval is "fake"...how his "sinking in the polls" means ANYTHING.

He WON'T change course. He's "teasing" his bigly yuge beautiful HEALTH CARE "PLAN," which by all accounts is a half-baked cake.

AND I KNOW Trump "poll" headlines are clickbait. I know news aggregates like Raw Story and Daily Beast post juicy headlines like...

...because I know some of their readers will think "Oh BOY...Trump is GOING DOWN..."

But if he doesn't give a shit...beyond being angered about headlines saying his polling numbers are crap...and beyond the aforementioned down-ticket races...does ANY of this MATTER?
