5. We learned from the George Floyd unrest.
Thu Jan 15, 2026, 11:59 PM
Thursday

There have been peaceful demonstrations of various sizes all over the twin cities and suburbs every day, and the organizers and participants have been emphasizing the need to remain calm. The ICE goons at the HQ try to provoke confrontation, and what happened last night isn't clear but nobody believes DHS' version. Thousands of people have participated in protests without incident, and the mood is determined and defiant but controlled. There's always the possibility that some hothead could get out of control, but so far that sort of thing seems to be getting shut down. This is much different from what happened after the George Floyd murder.
