In reply to the discussion: More Americans are Saying the Quiet Part Loud: They Want a Revolution [View all]Sweet Rosie Red
(12 posts)There is never any point to violence! I understand the frustration and desperation. I lived through the 60s too. We thought wed never get to see 30 because some a**hole somewhere would push the button, and we could bend over and kiss our sweet rosy reds goodbye. And when/where there were enough of us, we marched en mass (sp?) and shut the cities down. Thats what worked. Those who split off from the main movement and went towards violence were worse than useless; they discredited the peaceful protesters, split the movement and and gave rise to the wild eyed threatening leftist stereotype that the propagandists are trying to resurrect today. Ask yourself; what worked in Chicago? How can we replicate that here, there and everywhere?
I share the disgust for the passivity of the Dem leaders, but politicians have always waited to jump out in front of the parade and pretend to lead it. There have always been Fettermans and Manchins and Sinemas. How do we motivate and organize the public to simply refuse to participate?
Sit down strikes in the streets around Frozen Water vehicles? Expand the efforts to help people survive while staying off the streets? Here in Twin Cities, the cold canimmobilizee Frozen water vehicles andpersonnell very quickly. Do they still sell super soakers?? Deluge from upper windows? Water balloons!! Drones with waterballoonss! I honor that briliant young man who followed the troops on foot playing the Star Wars theme on his boom box! Make them go get dry socks! Get creative people!!
And be mindful of those who try to amplify anger to create unpredictable disruption. . When the fascists try to create rationalize lone wolf violence with words, we call it stochastic terrorism. Please ask yourself; Is this thread skirting that goal? Just asking.
