This is not a random choice. At Penn, at least among the white population (my two roomies were not—they were two black friends from high school), there was a large percentage of Jews among the students. Choosing Penn for an action like this is a deliberate throwback to 1935. But I don’t see what he expects to gain from such a move. Allies like Stephen Miller, Jared Kushner and Miriam Adelsohn are all Jews, and not insignificant to him, either. What’s the point, unless he wants to impress Peter Thiel that he’s an equal opportunity hater?
