(2,468 posts)They lack heavy sealift and heavy airlift capacity. As of now, NATO logistics as run by the US. Sealift, airlift, and mid air refueling is nearly entirely US military run. Coordination and planning is also basically run by the US. If a hypothetical war was actually happening, its doubtful much men or equipment would even survive transport across the Atlantic with the US Navy and Air Force operating to interdict any of it. Canadian military bases are mostly located relatively close to the US border. They closed down much of their more remote bases post cold war when they cut their funding back and downsized their military. MIssiles would be flying mostly one way, from the US to Canada as Canada doesn't have any MLRS type rocket systems and they do not have any cruise missiles. Their munitions are mainly laser guided bombs, some artillery, and some anti ship missiles. And they do not have a large amount of any of it.
