in Bedford Basin, then out through the Narrows to the Ocean. Almost certainly. The ships came in over time, the U-boat nets at the opening of the harbour would be opened enough to let them in. Then past the city of Halifax and into the Bedford Basin. When they had a huge number of ships, they would steam out of Bedford Basin, through the Narrows, then full speed into the Atlantic guarded by anti submarine boats and destroyers all the way to Europe. It was still dangerous and many ships were sunk.
