She was OBEYING AN ORDER from an ICE agent to DRIVE AWAY [View all]

When she was shot and killed, Renee Good was doing precisely what one ICE agent ordered her to do: drive away from the location.

I wonder if she even heard the second agent order her to get out of the car.

Caitlin Callenson, an eyewitness who took a video of the shooting, told MPR (Minnesota Public Radio) that ICE agents gave Good conflicting orders, with one agent ordering her to drive away from the scene while another yelled for her to get out of her car as he reached for the door handle.

“Some of them were leaving, and they just went around her, but ICE gave her orders to leave, while at the same time, another ICE person said, ‘Get out of the car,’ and he reached for her door handle. And then there was an ICE agent in front of her vehicle. So it was difficult for her to leave, as she'd been ordered to do,” Callenson said.

“She turned her steering wheel toward the right. The person was grabbing her door handle, the ICE officer who was in front of her vehicle shot once from the front and twice from the side, hitting her maybe three feet away at the max. Because she was shot, and she was already trying to leave, her foot was on the accelerator, and she crashed into a telephone pole.”

Her comments appear in the January 7 article's 3:35pm update.

According to the website NiemanLab, the New York Times analyzed Callenson’s video, the vertical balcony video, and a third bystander video in a video analysis of its own, “Videos contradict Trump Administration account of ICE shooting in Minneapolis.” An excerpt from that analysis:

The moment the agent fires, he is standing here to the left of the SUV and the wheels are pointing to the right away from the agent. This appears to conflict with allegations that the SUV was ramming or about to ram the officer. President Trump and others said the federal agent was hit by the SUV, often pointing to another video filmed from a different angle. And it’s true that at this moment, in this grainy, low-resolution footage, it does look like the agent is being struck by the SUV. But when we synchronize it with the first clip, we can see the agent is not being run over. In fact, his feet are positioned away from the SUV.
