22. The officer could also have been "defending others"

One thing this post and many others seem to be missing is the question of whether self-defense is the only defense for the officer. It isn't the only defense, imo. If the officer, for example, thought, for some reason (stupid, half-crazy, or not), that Good was a danger to others behind him or anywhere in the path of Good's SUV, he might have acted "in defense of others."

My own opinion is that, rationally, Good should have just complied with orders. Unfortunately, rationality can be in short supply in situations like that. The situation, in fact, should never have come about. It's just a tragedy.
