for federal law enforcement officers. There's such a thing as qualified immunity, which protects LEOs under some specific circumstances, but absolute immunity, as Shady Vance certainly knows, would mean that they have no legal constraints at all, and that if they felt like killing somebody just for fun they could get away with it. In some way it's worse that it's Vance who's making this completely false statement of the law, than it would be if Trump did it, because Vance, unlike Trump, knows damn well that it's false, and he's lying out his ass.
