The reason he didn't deploy troops in Chicago and Portland is because, for the moment, whoever is calling the shots decided that this was not the moment, or the dispute, for openly defying the courts. Had the regime decided to defy the courts, there would be troops in Chicago and Portland. They didn't pull the plug on that operation because of popular dissent.

Your list of elections, IMHO, proves nothing. In none of the instances you cite was the sitting president actively opposing elections. They prove nothing as to the current circumstances.

As for the thing you say is neither plausible, possible, or probable, I think you should perhaps take a bit more seriously the chatter about the Insurrection Act. Those guys have been slavering over that for quite some time.
