(3,782 posts)I realize that when darkness is closing in all around, it's important to gravitate to any flickering candle that's available. But the fact that those candles still exist in no way says the darkness cannot win.
As a first matter, I'm not sure how you characterize any of the items on your list as "victories for the Resistance." As I understand that phrase, you're saying that the Resistance was directly responsible for these victories.
I think that the first three items on your list represent the proper functioning of the courts. No troops were deployed because of injunctions. Abrego Garcia is free only because of court orders. The dismissals of the Comey and James indictments were normal course of business for the courts.
So unless you are arguing that the courts actually are simply about the proper application of popular pressure (which is a dangerous road to go down), these are results applauded by the Resistance, but it's a giant stretch to say they were caused by the Resistance.
The fourth issue is, again, a statement that, so far, things are functioning as they should: The states are refusing to give up their sovereignty. That, again, is not something I see as a result of pressure from the Resistance.
More to the point, not a single one of your examples is settled.
Steven Miller continues to crow about insurrection. The fact that the regime stood down these test invasions does not remotely mean that they'll not try it again.
Abrego Garcia is, as noted, free thanks to honest judges. But he is still being pursued with vigor by the DOJ. The story's not over. It may or may not be a big win ultimately.
The Comey and James indictments were dismissed without prejudice. They can be refiled once there's a real U.S. Attorney in place, and I'd be surprised if they weren't.
And what the states will do about mail-in voting remains to be seen. It's a long way from here to November, and a great many things can happen.
Finally, although it's a nice little list, I'd respectfully submit that those victories are tiny compared to the vast number of depredations.
Your mileage, clearly, varies.
