(38,311 posts)The court systems are not designed as a rapid response mechanism. They take time - years - to reach a final conclusion. It has been months, and very little - if anything - has been finally decided. It still may be that he can't legally do any of the list of things you have cited. But courts aren't designed to stop a specific illegal activity before a final decision is reached which, generally, requires three levels of court hearings.
Other entities are intended to act more promptly - Congress, for example, supported by the media. All of those entities which have the power to respond immediately, have fallen down on the job.
The system is clearly broken. But to say he can do things people have said he can't is to ignore the reality that our legal process are designed to take years for careful, balanced, deliberation.
