and trump won, I said to my husband, "Those poor people in Ukraine." A day or so later, a US representative was on MSNBC. He said, no worries, we will take care of this in the midterms in 2026. It was a man, I didn't know who he was and can't remember his name, but he said to just wait and we will take care of it with a smile. Don't worry, we'll take care of everything. That is when I stopped watching any news on TV. I read two newspapers, the DU and a few other sources for my news.

I also said, to my family and husband at the time, we have to do something. We can't just wait for two years. Other than a few strongly worded letters and statements by our Democratic leaders, it seems there is nothing that can be done until we vote in the midterms.

I sure hope we do vote in the 2026 midterms. I used to believe we could regain control of things, from climate change to our own federal government. I am no longer an optimistic pessimist. I worry about my grandchildren's future. I used to want to know what our world's future would be, now I can only hope we get out the vote in 2026.

(I am 75 with mobility issues, I marched in1969 against the war, attended peace rallies, walked in a picked line for my union, I can no longer get out and walk but I support those who do. I physically can't do it anymore.)
