It's old classic "pop politics" tapes at this point. The Antisemitic sentiment rests on less than nothing, but its familiarity in the world's mob political vocabulary makes it useful for calumny against Western Civilization and Capitalism.

The Venezuelan veep is probably well aware of the fact that she can't say, "We must keep our socialist system!" She knows that Maduro was voted out by the Venezuelan people, and the socialist system has ruined people's economic lives. If she said the U.S. was engaging in imperialism to enforce Venezuelan democracy and return it to a market economy, she knows the people in Venezuela would say, "sounds good!"

So, of course, she goes into the gutter and uses antisemitism.
