There are anti Maduro forces there for sure... my friends there protested the least election, were tear gassed, shot at, and eventually arrested by the state police... spent time in jail... and eventually were released to escape to Chile. They tell me that they voted AGAINST Maduro but they DO NOT want Machado to take his place. They want is to see the oil wealth nationalized, and for socialism ( European style ) to be installed... to use the resulting money to benefit the people and to diversify the economy... oil will not last forever... and the price fluctuations wreak havoc on government funding cycles.

They sure in the hell don't want US imperialism to replace "strong man communism"
