22. I'm just glad I don't have debt. House and land paid for, though it's not much of a house.

Old single-wide trailer, needs some extensive work. Land is just over an acre, well and septic, so taxes and maintenance costs only. We have cars that are paid for, and thankfully can do the repairs ourselves, sons know how to fix stuff. My late brother could fix almost any house issue that came up.

I know a lot of people are struggling with debt, have no one to depend on, or major health issues. It's going to get a lot worse, sadly. The trick to survival may be to do without fancy stuff, new clothes/cars/devices, and look around to make a community where work can be shared. It worked for our ancestors, it will work for us. We just have to accept that we'll need to be tightening belts, doing without the newest stuff, travelling, and fancy grocery items.

And for real, start electing better people and holding them to the law! Even the Democrats get no slack.
