I am saying consider the topics you bring up.

There is no purpose served giving her very bad political news.
It is very upsetting to the non dementia folks.
And she has a major health problem.

She was very smart and a PhD gives her extra neural pathways to process information.
She can be stimulated in other ways that are not so depressing.

There are a lot of things happening locally in your area you can talk about.
