Horseshoe Radicalism, from Nihilists to Leninists, extreme Rightists to extreme Leftists, most of these groups are headed by cynical egos looking to collect lost people searching for something to make them feel more important than everything else.
I don't discount the need to do something positive, however, I do have issue with cults of personality, because those types of organizations really don't care about doing good - they care about being the ones in charge who tell you what doing good is to a granular level. And that ain't much different that what the villains in their world plan.
Except they're the ones with "Liberation" in their name...
