3. Great advice

One of the advantages of a small town is that the wheels of power are close to the ground. We are a fairly economically depressed region, so any threat to meager livelihoods and our neighbors would be felt acutely. To have thugs running around mugging people in a small town would be devastating to the trust and security we are used to.

It would be really stupid for any hotel/resort to accommodate ICE since so many immigrants here work in hospitality and food services. If they weren't here, there aren't enough young people to fill those jobs.

I suspect that higher income cities like Santa Cruz might have more of a haves/have nots/political divide to exploit.
