Once deported to the El Salvador prison, he is subject to their rules - not ours. We can't just waltz in and say - hey, let me have that prisoner.

Certainly the court should order Trump to take the extraordinary measures requested by his attorneys - but the reality is that even if Trump refuses to pay the $6 million for holding the deportees, the El Salvador government can't be compelled to release him.

(There are people working in El Salvador to get the deportees access to due process - but they are forced to use the El Salvadoran habeas process. I don't know much about El Salvadoran law, but I doubt it offers as much protection on that front as the pitiful protections we offer.)
