It seems likely he is bought and paid for by a small group of oligarchs, maybe just 1-2.
They seem to have divided up the responsibility space in an unexpected way. I didn't think Trump would be in charge of anything, but it looks like this tariff project and undermining Ukraine are his. Otherwise, it's just torturing his enemies, and golf.

He does seem to be slipping down some slope. He's pretty loquacious still but seems out of the loop and delusional. Is it more than usual? Maybe.

The other members of the X-umvirate have got to be terrified. Probably the plan was to roll out Vance as successor if and when Trump had to leave but Vance is a discredited, no-charisma loser. 100 people will trample over him to seize the top job. The Trump family seems really low profile. It could be a really black day when he exits.
