Of course, it's probably futile to assume your CongressMAGAt will comprehend, much less acknowledge, mere facts, but we can't quit trying. You never know when, by coincidence, one of their family will be one of the ones to suffer, and then they'll suddenly understand. Other than that, the boundaries of their empathy do not extend beyond one degree of separation. I think that's one of the "character" (to use the term loosely) traits that enables such people to find the GOP to be "their kind of people".
