6. When I bought my range two years ago

I bought the same model that I bought back in 1997. That range is still in that kitchen today. It was - and still is- made in America.

There is little that can go wrong on it. No bells and whistles like a motherboard that controls everything. Not even a timer.

It’s also not cheap, being a stainless steel pro- style range, but for home use. I don’t expect to have to buy another one in my life for as long as I live here in my current home.

I have no illusions that my fridge and dishwasher will last that long. I did buy a fridge that has separate compressors for the fridge and freezer sections.
