How Amazon Ruined Christmas - More Perfect Union

SCOOP: Amazon workers in NYC are going on strike right before Christmas — the company's busiest time. The first unionized Amazon warehouse is going to shut down in a historic walkout. Workers plan to hit the company where it hurts to win their first union contract.

Kohl's has won the retail department store war. They have continually expanded and upgraded their offerings, they have variety, they have upscale, they have value. I'm impressed. 25 years ago I thought them decidedly midwestern. Not so anymore.

Even look at their ads on any search, I certainly have no interest in buying anything from them. That outfit is against my religion.

If you use google for your search engine, most results at the top are amazon ads, often for a full page, very annoying when it's not even a place you would consider shopping.

* Sears, Kmart, Walmart... especially for having ruined the joy of the hustle and bustle of going from store-to-store through downtown streets with kids in tow and an armful of boxes and bags... city lights blinking a bright red and green, a gentle snowfall just starting, and carolers in the background. But above all this bustle you hear, silver bells from the Santa on the corner.
