The rapidly expanding war sparked by the joint U.S.–Israeli assault on Iran has evolved into one of the most volatile Middle East conflicts in decades, with mounting American casualties, regional spillover across at least nine countries, and intensifying political backlash in Washington. The public narrative around the war’s origins and justification has been marked by sharp contradictions between key U.S. leaders, particularly between Donald Trump and Marco Rubio.
