Let's talk about DOJ unreleasing Trump-Epstein photos.... - Belle of the Ranch

Well, howdy there internet people. It's Belle again. So, today we're going to talk about DOJ unreleasing Trump Epstein photos.

Just when you thought the Trump administration couldn't handle the Epstein files any worse, they find a new way to mess up something that was supposed to be a Trump signature policy. It was something he and his team campaigned on.

So DOJ did a partial release with heavy redactions. It let down all of those people who were waiting on the documents who believed Trump. Then DOJ started taking documents back and unreleasing them for lack of a better word. It happened at least a dozen times. One in particular was a photo of other photos. And guess who was in those photos? You guessed it, President Trump.

The official oversight Dems’ social media account reposted the image with,.”This photo file 468 from the Epstein files that includes Donald Trump has apparently now been removed from the DOJ release. AG Pam Bondi, is this true? What else is being covered up? We need transparency for the American public.”

Representative Ro Khanna said he and Thomas Massie were looking at all the options and suggested they might move to a higher stakes’ political showdown over the release, "It can be the impeachment of people at Justice, inherent contempt, or referring for prosecution, those who are obstructing justice."

Representative Jamie Raskin of Maryland, the top Democrat on the House Judiciary Committee, said, "Trump opposed the legislation up until the very end when he could read the writing on the wall. Then he said, oh, I'm for it." They've decided they're just going to try to obstruct the implementation of the legislation.

It's not just Democrats who are looking on with disbelief as the Trump administration fumbles the release even worse than they fumbled the economy. Senator Rand Paul of Kentucky seemed to express his disbelief at how badly they're handling an issue of their own making. And it's important to remember that this whole scenario occurred because Trump embraced a bunch of theories that allowed him to use this to attack his opponents.

Senator Paul said, "So any evidence or any kind of indication that there's not a full reveal on this, this will just plague them for months and months more."

Now, it's worth noting that the guidance issued by DOJ concerning redaction could apply to some of the other people depicted in the missing photo. It's also worth reminding everybody that we've covered how disorganized and confusing that guidance has been. It's possible that his photo ends up re-released with other people redacted.

There is consistent denial from top DOJ officials that there is any effort to shield Trump from his place in the Epstein files, but the skepticism has fully left the fringes and is dead center in the middle of mainstream politics with even congressional leaders in Trump's own party acknowledging at least the appearance of a cover up, even if they aren't outright alleging one.

Anyway, it's just a thought. Y'all have a good day.
