Texas Republicans Compiling Secret List Of Transgender Citizens

The Republicans who control the state of Texas have begun compiling a secret list of all trangender individuals in Texas following several years of passing draconian laws limiting the rights of these same people. No one knows exactly what the list is being used for or could be used for in the future, but all possibilities are bad. This is how societies throughout history started their oppressive regimes - it always begins with identification of individuals that they tell us "don't deserve" the same rights as everyone else. Farron Cousins explains what's happening.

After the Trump administration ends, those who haven't been indicted will have to go into hiding so they don't have to explain why they allowed all of these things to happen. "Just following orders" hasn't been a valid excuse for some 70 years.

...so they're looking for examples of trans people they can point to as depraved and dangerous, and that's either inherent in being trans, or is triggered by being trans.
