For my job I was responsible for the satellite TV listings and was responsible for ESPN since my work partner, though male, knew nothing about sports. I still remember one boxing match with "Marvelous Marvin Hagler" and I had to call my Dad to ask him if this was the boxer's real name. Growing up, my Dad watched baseball, football and basketball so I was familiar with a lot of the players, but I have still never watched even one boxing match.

He was there with his wife and kid on a gravel bar in the Niangua River...We talked a bit, not about wrestling just about the river and weather and stuff. Nice guy and it was interesting to meet him doing "normal" stuff...my only fighting/wrestling story...

It sounded pretty strange to me at the time since they were encouraged to "spit" on a regular basis to lose enough weight to qualify for a lower weight class, let alone the diet they followed. He finally convinced me to attend one of his matches and it was over pretty quickly since his competitor broke my friend's arm.
