the number i hear is 100 million as optimum us population. i might not argue that as a reasonable number, i might even go lower, but i'd get there by birth control, encouraging later childbearing and humane means that might lower the pop over the course of a few generations. not plague, war, famine and whoever the other horseman is? death?

Meanwhile the country is suffering by jobs that go unfulfilled, the exorbitant price of gas which limits travel to jobs and the cost of fertilizer and lack of workers which causes needed farms to go under.
