It was scary in the Altadena-Pasadena area. A friends house was lost, she stayed with me two months. Had good insurance which paid for rental housing for a year. Not sure yet if she will rebuild to replace the mid-century modern house she had inherited from her aunt.
Reminder: pack an emergency bag. I have one and one for my cats. Wont cover everything I'd need but its a start.
