Hundreds of passengers on two Delta flights from Mexico were forced to spend the night inside planes on the tarmac of the Montgomery, Alabama, airport after being diverted due to severe weather while no customs staff were available to let them inside the airport. NBC News’ Aaron Gilchrist shares how what was supposed to be a four-hour journey turned into an all-night hassle.

We are circling the drain here with our disregard for humanity. That just seems to have gone out the window the minute the Bush security state got installed. Now everything is so inhumane at the airport.
