Donald Trump thinks he can end birthright citizenship. History suggests otherwise - Velshi - MSNBC

Donald Trump has said he intends on ending birthright citizenship, which would require overturning the 14th Amendment. But even by attempting to overturn it– which would trigger scores of lawsuits – the question could appear in front of the Supreme Court, where a Trump-friendly majority could rule in his favor. - Aired on 12/15/2024.

probably by redefining the term “subject to the jurisdiction thereof,” then tens of millions of people would suddenly not be citizens.

Subject to the jurisdiction has had a very narrow meaning to include the children of diplomats and the children born to soldiers of an occupying army, which has never been relevant since the 14th was passed.

I don’t remember hearing him say this in any campaign speeches and I don’t think it would’ve gone over that well obviously he doesn’t want America to be America anymore. I guess he wants us to Russia.
