Raw Story: 'No idea what he's talking about': Mary Trump nails 'deeply ignorant' Trump NBC claim

Raw Story - 'No idea what he's talking about': Mary Trump nails 'deeply ignorant' Trump NBC claim

After watching a clip of Donald Trump promising to eliminate birthright citizenship during an interview with NBC's Kristin Welker that was broadcast on Sunday morning, his niece, Mary Trump, shot down his argument on while appearing on MSNBC.

Speaking with fill-in host Charles Coleman Jr, the president's niece came right out of the gate claiming her uncle has no idea what is in the Constitution.

"Look, let's be very clear here –– it's despicable," she began. "Also, he doesn't know what he's talking about. I think that's the first time he's ever heard any part of the Constitution in his life."

"He's a deeply ignorant, cruel man who seems to forget that his father was a first-generation American," she elaborated. "So, if it hadn't been for birthright citizenship, my grandfather probably wouldn't have been allowed to stay here."

"Obviously, the immigrants Donald hates are people of color," she accused. "What he also doesn't understand is the reason why we have the 14th Amendment was because we enslaved an entire race of people. and it was to ensure that after the Civil War was over and they were freed, they were, in short, protected by citizenship being conferred upon them. So, it's a power grab. I don't think there is any mechanism by which he can make it happen. but this is another instance in which we are in the unfortunate position of having to rely on Republicans to do the right thing and protect American citizens."

Tells me, something has fundamentally changed in the USA.

You know the silent with Trump winning, the sort of acceptance that one quarter of our population is brain dead and one half is indifference to what happens in this nation.

Just seems like there is something in the wind….and I don’t know what it is - but it feels like the silence before a storm.

Maybe the MAGA/Trump are playing with fire….I just don’t know, but it feels like the silence is saying that there is a point where people are not going to take it anymore.

Then, maybe when the MAGA crowd that have a few brain cells realize that they have been played - they might realize that the Right/Left have a common adversary - the Rich.

I am beyond belief that four people have a trillion dollars and some of the working stiffs don’t have enough to meet their daily needs - and we as a people are okay with that. Maybe the spark that might ignite the fire is the GOP/Project 2025 plan to strip SS and Medicare from everyone.

I sadly think, we are starting to live in Interesting Times.

When Trump and Republicans cut Social Security and Medicare to the bone to give billionaires tax cuts? When tariffs on exports cause consumer prices to increase? When people lose their jobs because other countries retaliate and slap big tariffs on US- made goods so that companies here lose sales and cut staff? When the ACA is eliminated and 20 million people lose access to healthcare? Or when drug prices go through the roof because Trump and Republicans absolutely do not care what people have to pay?

Just from a selfish point of vies, I am 81 si you know what that means.
However, what 'they' may do is the old frogs in the pot as the water heats up until it is too late and the Magats won't know what hit them until it is to late to jump out of the pot...
On the other hand all those rich fuckers have a predisposition to just say what they are about to do right up front and a mighty fuck you to the rest of us.

But, what do I know.

It's like the CEO shooter opened a metaphorical manhole cover and we're all seeing something below our feet few were aware of. Or at least dismissed. A seething level of hatred directed exactly at those it should be directed at. Those who are causing the pain and suffering many are feeling. Dems need to take heed of this, tap into it, and use it to drive constructive change. Message to that resentment. Use it. If we can who knows how far it can take us.

That will never see the light of day. It will take a constitutional amendment. The MAGA party doesnt have enough horses for that.

I'm starting to think that the MAGA's here in Florida are some of the stupidest humans I've ever had the displeasure of meeting.

TSF was bragging about how tariffs are a great thing and he said "I've even stopped WARS with tariffs"
And Kristin Welker never asked him what WARS he stopped! He says outrageous shit bragging about
himself and MSM let him slide.
