Two good things about this failed smear

It was exposed quickly, and now any future similar attempts will be looked at skeptically by most people. The second aspect is the more important one, I think.

The same nutjob did this to Mueller so it is unlikely he will be prosecuted for this. I have heard he is under investigation for something else to do with fraud but I don't know if it is true.
