What it means that everyone ...is going after Pete Buttigieg:

This is a well-written and witty commentary on the spate of attacks on Pete, and what they actually mean. It makes sense and that's why I'm posting it.

Why is everyone suddenly attacking Pete now? Because the first polls revealing him to be a front-runner didn’t prove to be outliers. Because American voters continue to make donations to his campaign. to get the nomination. I have faith - he is used to, as he says, helping people get used to him taking great leaps and getting to higher positions than expected for someone of his age and experience.

I don’t go on websites and defend Pete. I just quietly donate more money to his campaign, and let the other candidates running against him wonder why he can bring in that kind of funding.
Right now, it’s all about the funding, I know Pete can defend himself. He’s a very capable and smart young man.

I’m sure Pete has been waiting for them to swing mud. He’s ready.

I thought that this piece was hilarious. The best laugh – almost the only laugh– I've had all week. And like many hilarious things, it's also true. (The metaphor about his cat and the toy
mouse alone. . ). Recommended!
